This beautiful Stamford property required a considered approach with a careful selection of materials to merge authentically with the existing Stamford Stone style, stone seals and headers were used to achieve a seamless look.
The project involved relocating the existing kitchen, including transferring utilities from the front of the property to the rear, in order to create a spacious and bright kitchen/dining area to merge with the outdoor garden space.
We then transformed the former kitchen at the front of the property into a cosy family living room.
We installed a cantilever steel beam over the extension which required precision as there was zero room for error in order to successfully install the floating corner doors.
The contrasting sleek aluminium triple track sliding pocket doors were then fitted to sit within the cavity of the adjacent walls, opening up the beautiful porcelain tiled interior space to the matching tiled raised patio and seating area.
The entire space is perfect for opening up to allow for summer relaxation and outdoor entertaining, with the client’s outdoor furniture beautifully complementing the matte black of the sliding doors.
The extension was fitted with column radiators, a vaulted ceiling and Velux windows, maximising the light and space for this growing family to enjoy.
JM Building completed the project with redecoration and finish throughout using Farrow & Ball colours.
We approached JM Building with our plans for our dream open-plan kitchen, living and dining space which opens up and out into the garden.
Our plan involved switching our kitchen from the front of our home to the rear and we were a little apprehensive at the scale of the work involved and the inevitable disruption and temporary lack of a functional kitchen. However, JM Building did everything they could to minimise this and kept us informed of each stage of the project so we knew what to expect and when.
The team at JM were always friendly and did their best to work around us, keeping working areas safe, clean and tidy while adhering to a reasonable timescale of three months. They were considerate of the needs of our young family and pushed through obstacles to get our project completed in good time.
